About Dr. Desmond Neuendorff
Dr. Desmond Neuendorff's outstanding achievements in the hybridising and culture of orchids
have amassed him 176 State (QOS) and National (AOC) Awards over the past 15 years as a hobby grower.
His expertise in the hybridising of mini/compact-type Cattleyas, especially using the genus
Broughtonia, is internationally recognised. His hybridising of Varicosum-type Oncidiums and
Australian Native Orchids is also of world standard.
To quote a section of the November, 2001 QOS Inc. Bulletin: his achievements are
"...truly remarkable and should really be a contender for entry in the
Guinnes Book of Records".
